Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of wayrooted.com and the services offered by WayRooted (“WayRooted,” “we,” “us”). By using our site or booking a session, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use WayRooted.

1. What WayRooted does

WayRooted connects travelers and people considering a move with independent local experts (“Locals”) for one-on-one planning calls and related recommendations. Our services are for informational and advisory purposes only.

WayRooted and its Locals do not book, sell or arrange travel, lodging, tours, transportation or reservations, and are not travel agents, real estate agents, or legal, financial or tax advisors.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to book a session. You agree to give accurate information and to keep your account details secure.

3. Locals are independent

Locals are independent contractors, not employees or agents of WayRooted. Each Local is interviewed by our team before joining. However, recommendations and opinions shared during a session are the Local’s own, and we don’t guarantee their accuracy, completeness or suitability for you.

4. Third-party businesses and recommendations

Your Local may recommend restaurants, guides, businesses, neighborhoods or other people and places, or share contact information for people they trust. These third parties are independent of WayRooted. We don’t control, endorse or guarantee them, and we aren’t responsible for their services, prices, availability, safety or conduct. Any arrangement you make with a third party is between you and them.

Locals may not accept undisclosed payments or commissions from businesses they recommend.

5. Bookings and payment

Prices are listed on our website in U.S. dollars and are due when you book. Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Add-ons, like the day-by-day itinerary, are priced as shown at checkout.

6. Cancellations and refunds

Cancellations, rescheduling and refunds are covered by our Cancellation & Refund Policy, which is part of these Terms.

7. Your responsibilities

• Use WayRooted only for lawful purposes, and treat Locals with respect.
• Don’t record sessions without your Local’s permission.
• Don’t use WayRooted to contact Locals for services outside the platform in order to avoid our fees.
• Make your own decisions about travel, safety, health, housing and money, and do your own research where it matters.

8. Our content

The WayRooted name, logo, website and materials belong to WayRooted. Written follow-ups and lists from your Local are for your personal use and may not be resold or republished.

9. Disclaimers

WayRooted is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of fitness for a particular purpose. We don’t guarantee any particular result from your trip, move or session.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, WayRooted won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for anything arising from third-party businesses or recommendations. Our total liability for any claim related to WayRooted is limited to the amount you paid us for the session that gave rise to the claim.

11. Indemnity

You agree to hold WayRooted harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of our services or your violation of these Terms.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Travis County, Texas.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will always be posted here with its effective date. Continuing to use WayRooted after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
